In the 1990s, we took part in a pioneering project in the field of haute couture retail: the transformation of a belle époque hotel, housed in a beautiful neo-Mannerist building next to the Teatro alla Scala, into the new Trussardi maison, which, in addition to the boutiques and private showrooms, incorporated a garden with a café-restaurant and an art centre with large exhibition spaces.
The external restoration and internal renovation project was entrusted to Studio Gregotti Associati, while Sice Previt carried out the renovation work.
We are proud to have taken part in the restoration of that jewel of Milanese architecture represented by Palazzo Marino alla Scala, in one of the city’s symbolic squares, and to have contributed to Nicola Trussardi’s innovative project to create a synergy between the worlds of fashion and art.
Today, the Foundation has ‘left’ the palazzo and promotes artistic projects rooted directly in the public space, but the Maison Trussardi at Palazzo Marino alla Scala remains one of the first examples of a multifunctional centre for culture that has arisen in connection with luxury retail spaces.
