Heavy metalwork

The Metal Carpentry department, both light and heavy, occupies about 1300 square metres in the Segrate plant and is able to produce both certified structural elements and finishing elements. The production and installation of these elements is at the basis of construction and renovation works, and completes the site activity with a view to a functional integration between the departments to offer the customer a complete service.

The department, which was one of the very first to open in the 2000s, can count on highly specialised personnel, who benefit from specific up-to-date and constant training and are equipped with continuous wire welding (MIG) licences. TIG and laser welding systems are also used for light carpentry structures.

All machinery is constantly updated to maintain a high level of technological upgrading. The cutting edge of the department’s technological equipment is represented by the ‘cobot’ (short for ‘collaborative robot’) for welding: a programmable mechanical arm capable of carrying out standardised work in a particularly efficient and fast manner, operating in close contact with human operators. At present, it is used to produce the back structures of furniture walls for luxury shops.

Sice Previt carpentry has also obtained the following quality certifications: UNI EN ISO 1090-1 (CE marking of steel structures) and UNI EN ISO 3834-2 (Welding Quality System).
