Heavy metalwork

The department dedicated to light and heavy metalwork occupies around 1,300 square metres of the Segrate plant, and is capable of producing certified structural elements as well as finishing elements. The production and installation of these products is at the heart of construction and renovation work, complementing the activities on-site. Such functional integration between departments enables Sice Previt to offer a comprehensive service to customers.

The department, which was among the very first to open in the 2000s, can count on highly specialised personnel who benefit from constant training and are equipped with continuous wire (MIG) welding licences. TIG and laser welding systems are also employed for light carpentry structures.

All machinery is updated on a regular basis in order to maintain a high level of technological advancement. The cutting edge of the department’s equipment is represented by the ‘cobot’ (short for ‘collaborative robot’) for welding: a programmable mechanical arm capable of carrying out standardised work in a particularly efficient and quick manner, operating in close contact with human operators. At present, the cobot is used to produce the back structures of furniture walls for luxury shops.

Sice Previt metalwork department has also obtained the following quality certifications: UNI EN ISO 1090-1 (CE marking of steel structures) and UNI EN ISO 3834-2 (Welding Quality System).
