Wood carpentry

The wood carpentry department opened in the 2000s to provide support activities for construction sites. However, it rapidly evolved into a production laboratory manufacturing high-end furniture designed to measure for private residences and stores in the fashion & luxury industry.

Nowadays, the optimisation of construction design and production achieved over the years through the establishment of technologically advanced industrial lines and the training of personnel, guarantees the highest level of craftsmanship in finishes.

The department is in fact equipped with several work centres comprising versatile and modern machinery that, when combined with the experience and expertise of the specialised operators, allows Sice Previt to handle complex and even experimental processing to the highest standard.

An important part of the activities of the woodwork department, which is the largest department of the factory (covering over 6000 square meters), consists in the creation of mock-ups: life-size prototypes of furniture components made according to the project. Realising mock-ups allows to assess the adequacy of the work together with the Client, and to identify any changes that need to be made during the production process. This working methodology based on continuous dialogue makes production more effective and sustainable for both parties.

The pursuit of efficiency and quality goes hand in hand with attention to social and environmental sustainability. In fact, the department is equipped with powerful suction and filtration systems to collect dust resulting from mechanical processing. It also has an electrical system equipped with inverters to calibrate energy consumption according to actual needs at any given time. Finally, all timbers processed in Sice Previt have a very low formaldehyde content.
