A house on the water

In 2013, one of our long-standing clients asked us to take on the first ever realisation of the Maison au Bord de l’Eau, a historic project conceived by the pioneer of modernist architecture Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999).

Assembled and opened to the public for the first time in summer 2014 on the beach of a Miami hotel to represent France at that year’s Art Basel, in 2015 it was exhibited at the Fuori Salone in Milan and in 2019 in Paris, as part of an exhibition on Perriand held in the spaces of the Louis Vuitton Foundation (Le Monde Nouveau de Charlotte Perriand, 02.10.2019 – 24.02.2020).

It was an honour to take charge of engineering Perriand’s designs, starting from her design idea and arriving at a complete executive project that was realistic in all details. We would like to thank her heir, Pernette Perriand, for her valuable collaboration in interpreting the original drawings.

Today, La Maison au Bord de l’Eau stands proudly on the roof of our factory in Segrate, as an integral part of our history and identity. We have opened it to the public during the exhibition Factory Reflections in 2024, and for the 2025 edition of Fuorisalone it will be visitable in Palazzo Serbelloni (Milan).
