What legacy can a company leave its members and society as a whole? It is a question that Sice has been pondering for some time and that today, on the occasion of Workers’ Day, seems to be even more important. In the words of Arturo Caprio, ‘what we can do as human beings is to leave a mark’ that is all the more meaningful and lasting the more we hone our ability to cooperate, bringing together individual strengths and skills.
Sice’s history seems to confirm this vision, as is effectively recounted in the following video, edited by Jacopo Mandelli, which draws on the company’s vast photographic archive to give shape to a rich succession of images covering the more than sixty years of Sice Previt’s life.
Co-star of the montage is the music, which gives the pulse of the many different decades traversed by the Segrate-based company. Opening the video together with the very first photographs is the fast-paced and optimistic rhythm of swing, which searches for the roots of the company’s foundation in the work and legacy of the generations that set up various entrepreneurial activities at the end of the first half of the last century.
Rock, on the other hand, is associated with the photographs that follow the birth of Sice Previt in 1961 in a period of strong experimentation between classic construction, prefabrication and renovation. The sound of soul introduces us to the 1980s and not easy times for the family business, which however resulted in a renewal that gradually led to the significant turning point of the 1990s, accompanied musically by a transition to pop. On the threshold of the new century, on the wave of the many social transformations, Sice Previt also became a high-end furniture factory, making itself known worldwide for the uniqueness of the workmanship it carries out, which is increasingly in demand in the high-fashion market.
The continuation of the story is still to be written, and the actions of all the people working at Sice Previt contribute to it every day. Happy 1st May to all!
